Editorial Policy
Our editorial methodology, peer review workflow, and code of conduct.
// Our Commitment to Truth
Genostride stands as an independent publisher of evidence-based genomic science and everyday health insights. To maintain reader confidence, our editorial desk adheres to a strict set of core safeguards:
1. Mandatory Peer Review
Every article discussing human health, nutrition, or physical adaptation must undergo review by a qualified scientific contributor (a PhD geneticist, clinical researcher, or medical reviewer). Reviewer signatures, institutional affiliations, and conflict statements are displayed prominently on the article page.
2. Distinguishing Association and Causation
Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) trace statistical correlations, not direct causal links. Our writers are trained to distinguish between:
- Relative vs. Absolute Risk: A variant might increase risk for a trait by 50% (relative), but if absolute risk is 1 in 10,000, your risk shifts only to 1.5 in 10,000. We always explain absolute context.
- Genetic Influence vs. Determinism: We never state 'this gene makes you...' or 'your DNA dictates...'. Genes influence protein synthesis baselines; lifestyle and environment are the primary switches.
3. Commercial Neutrality
Genostride does not promote genetic testing services, link to consumer DNA test kits, host raw genomic upload utilities, or accept corporate financing from companies selling diagnostics.
